Why isn’t my coupon code working?
That’s a tough one. There are many reasons a coupon code will not work! First, please make sure the spelling is exact. Still having trouble? Do not hesitate to reach out to us at ottawavalleymeats@gmail.com BEFORE placing your order.
Do you deliver to ‘X’ location?
If you are seeing our ads, live in Eastern Ontario, along the 401 Corridor, in Montreal, Toronto, or the GTA, then it is highly likely we deliver to you!
How long does it take to deliver?
If you are in the Ottawa area, we typically can deliver your order within 4 days. Rural, Montreal and Toronto/GTA customers receive deliveries within a week.
How does delivery work?
We deliver by freezer-refrigerated trucks or by FedEx Overnight. (If delivery is handled by FedEx, you will receive notification with tracking information). You will receive an order confirmation and your order will be delivered on the selected date.
Our boxes are double walled and can hold their temperature for up to 90 min on very hot summer days. Our FedEx deliveries use insulation and dry ice that keeps the product frozen for up to 3 days.
Do I have to be home when my delivery arrives?
No. Carry on with your day! Our packaging is designed to hold its temperature for several hours. If you plan to be away for the entire day, reach out to customer service to make arrangements.
Can I recycle the package?
Yes! Our boxes (and the insulation inside) are made out of recycled paper and are 100% curbside recyclable.
About Our Meat
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the grades of the steaks and beef?
If you are looking for quality, you’ve found it. Our beef regularly grades AAA or higher, often Prime. We also dry age our beef for a minimum of 28 days to ensure it’s as tender as possible.
Is the meat government inspected?
Yes, all our meats are either provincially or federally inspected. We follow all the rules and regulations defined by the CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency) and the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA). Our facility is also Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) certified. Food safety is a top priority!
Do you use antibiotics or hormones in your meat? Is your meat genetically modified in any way?
No. Our local farmers raise their animals in the most natural way possible — on the pasture! Our meat is antibiotic and hormone free and never genetically modified.
Are the animals humanely raised?
Absolutely! This is so important to us. Many of the family farms we partner with have small herds for this very reason. These folks sincerely care for their animals and ensure their animals spend time outdoors with adequate space to roam to their heart’s content. Ottawa Valley Meats only partners with farms that pasture raise their animals. We do not work with farms that use industrial or factory farming practices.
How long can I keep your meat in my freezer?
As long as the vacuum seal is intact, you are good to go! If it is kept properly frozen, our meats can last 24 months in the freezer.
Why is your meat flash frozen?
Flash freezing our meat takes mere minutes to do, but the benefits are long-lasting. It’s the best way to ensure that our meat retains its amazing flavour, texture and colour. You’ll find no discernible difference between fresh and our flash frozen meat or seafood.
